Search for Madeleine McCann Turns to Australia

Here is a new twist in the search for the missing British girl Madeleine McCann which has an Aussie connection:

THE hunt for Madeleine McCann has reportedly switched to Australia after fresh information.

Britain’s Daily Mail reports private detectives have been given information about an Australian man they believe could be linked to her disappearance.

However The Sun says it is an Australian woman that is believed to hold vital clues to the British girls’ abduction in May 2007.

Both reports say the information relates to a conversation the Australian had with a Briton in Spain just days after Maddie’s disappearance from her holiday appartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal.

The Sun quoted “a source close to the investigation” as saying: “What this Australian is reported to have said is of enough significant interest to launch a hunt for her. [News.com]

Considering all the media attention I just don’t see how anyone could have smuggled this girl into Australia, but I guess the authorities need to follow what ever leads they can.  Hopefully one day soon someone can find this little girl.
