Picture of the Day: The Bishop Cap, New Mexico

This is a picture of a rock formation just south of New Mexico’s Organ Mountains called the Bishop Cap.  I took this picture from the rest stop just to the west of Las Cruces, New Mexico.  I actually scouted out this rock formation before to see if it could be climbed and found that there was no real trail up the mountain.  Since I don’t believe in hiking off of established trails I don’t think I will be hiking up this mountain any time soon.  Regardless the Bishop’s Cap is a scenic site that is easily visible when driving on I-10 between Las Cruces and El Paso, Texas.
