Pictures of Snowy Pikes Peak from Palmer Park

I was recently hanging out at Palmer Park in Colorado Springs and took some pictures of Pikes Peak as viewed from the park.  This first picture shows that Pikes Peak and its neighbor Almagre Mountain have a pretty good snow cap on it right now:

In the above picture it looks like Pikes Peak has some clouds around its summit, but those are not clouds but instead snow blowing off of the top of the mountain.  Here is a closer look that shows the snow being blown off the mountain:

one of the issues with keeping a good snow pack on Pikes Peak is that since the mountain rises up out of the prairie all by itself it takes the brunt of the winds that roll across the state.  It neighbor Almagre Mountain was likewise getting battered by wind:
