Picture of the Day: Waldo Canyon Fire Damage In Ute Pass

I was driving up to Woodland Park through Ute Pass recently and stopped to take this picture of the hill sides along the Rampart Range that were scorched from this summer’s Waldo Canyon Fire. Considering the size of the fire, the firefighters did a great job keeping this fire from jumping Highway 24 and not scorching the Pikes Peak side of the canyon.
