On Walkabout In: New Zealand’s North Island

Recently my wife and I took some time off and went on holiday in New Zealand. We had three weeks to explore New Zealand and the first half of our holiday we dedicated to exploring the North Island before flying to the South Island to explore there.

Our tour on the North Island began from New Zealand’s largest and most metropolitan city of Auckland:

From Auckland we toured around the center of the island to explore the Lake Taupo area as well as the magnificent volcanoes of Tongariro National Park. From there we moved on to explore the North Island tourist Mecca of Rotorua before exploring the north coast and heading back to Auckland. Overall the North Island was actually better than we expected and we would love to visit again sometime.

Next Posting: The City of Sails, Auckland
