New Zealand Murderer Captured in Atlanta

Good news, the guy who murdered his wife in New Zealand and them left his daughter in a Melbourne train station before flying off to America has been caught:

NEW Zealand police expect fugitive Nai Yin Xue will be returned to Auckland within weeks following his capture in the US.

Mr Xue, 53, is accused of murdering his wife in Auckland and abandoning his young child Qian Xun Xue, who became known as "Pumpkin", at a Melbourne train station last September before fleeing to America.

He was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia early today (AEDT) after Chinese Americans recognised his photo in a newspaper, tied him up with his own clothes and called police.

Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Scott said under a treaty Mr Xue should be extradited to New Zealand in about 45 days, but paperwork was almost complete, which could speed things up.

“Our information regarding extradition is it is approximately 45 days but we … are well ahead of the game in terms of the extradition process,” Sen Sgt Scott said.  [AAP]

It is good to see the Chinese-American community stepping forward and capturing this scumbag.  His daughter who was dubbed "Pumpkin" by the Melbourne community is now living in China with her grandma.
