Sydney Teenager May Draw $20,000 Fine for Party

This past weekend’s story about a 16 year old Melbourne teenager throwing a huge party while his parents were gone on holiday in Queensland has been making big headlines all day:

A MELBOURNE teenager who threw a wild party while his parents were away is facing a $20,000 hangover as police prepare to bill him for the mayhem.

Victorian Police Commissioner Christine Nixon said the cost of breaking up the 500-strong crowd of drunken youths in Narre Warren South on Saturday night was about $20,000, if not more.

About 30 officers, a police helicopter and the dog squad were called to the party in Galloway Drive about 11pm (AEDT).

Teenagers pelted police vehicles with glass bottles and damaged property.

Ms Nixon said the behaviour toward police was appalling.

She said police were considering billing the boy, to spare the community the cost. [AAP]

I just saw the teenager interviewed on A Current Affair and he is a punk who would not back down from what he did and encouraged other teenagers to call him to organize parties for them if their parents are gone.  He is going to have to organize a lot of parties to pay off a $20,000 fine.  He also said he has been hanging up on his parents every time they tried to call him as well.  The parents are on their way back to Sydney but it seems like they have their hands full with this teenager.
